Senior pastor

Hey, I'm Wes Willie

I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Florence since 2016. With over two decades of ministry experience—including roles as youth pastor, music minister, and senior pastor—my heart remains centered on sharing the gospel and shepherding God’s people.

My wife Amanda and I have been married since 2001, and we’re proud empty nesters of 21-year-old twins. Life and ministry have taught me the importance of grace, and I often reflect on 1 Timothy 1:15: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the foremost.”

I’m passionate about helping people discover a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. I believe that God’s Word is the foundation for life and ministry, and I’m committed to preaching truth, loving people, and building a Christ-centered community where everyone is welcome.

We Believe God has a Plan for You

First Baptist Church Florence exists to help you connect on a personal level with God through Jesus Christ. We believe that God has a plan and purpose for your life. We know that when your life comes into contact with God’s purpose, life change occurs.

We Believe in Small Groups

First Baptist Church Florence nurtures in-home small groups that reflect on God’s word as a community of believers.  Our small groups encourage the creation of disciples and fosters accountability among fellow Christians.  The fellowship enjoyed in the weekly gatherings helps deepen existing relationships and grow new ones.

At First Baptist Church Florence, our deepest desire is to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly and to make His name known in all we do. We are a family of believers from all walks of life, united by the transforming grace of God. We recognize that every person has a unique story—but we firmly believe that no story is complete without Jesus. Our prayerful mission is to see lives renewed, the church strengthened, and our community impacted by the hope of the gospel.

FBC Florence Ministries

FBC Kids

FBC Kids is for any child pre-K through 5th graders.

Sunday school for kids is at 10am, and children’s church during services at 11am.

Our Kids ministry meets every Wednesday night, doors open at 5:30pm with a free meal, games, music, and a bible lesson!

FBC Students

FBC Student Ministry is for any student in grades 6-12th.

Service times are Sundays @ 11am

Youth services are every Wednesday, doors open @ 4pm, free meal is served at 5:30pm, and games, worship and lesson is from 6:30-7:30pm.

FBC Adults

Our Adult Ministry has a wide variety of studies for everyone.
